More and more frequently, Americans who grew up in New England are moving to the West Coast as they grow older. Many people are finding that there are more job opportunities in big cities in the West, and that the culture is different and exciting compared to where they come from. Still though, native New Englanders miss many things about the places that they come 롤대리 from, including the great food. New England is well-known for its great seafood, but fortunately, the Pacific Northwest has plenty of delicious and fresh seafood as well. Besides Boston’s clam chowder, people who grew up in New England are used to eating Lobster rolls. As these Americans migrate to the Pacific Northwest, many of them are taking that traditional recipe and substituting the lobster with fresh Alaska snow crab to create crab rolls.
Lobster rolls have always been incredibly easy to make, no matter whether you follow a Maine or Connecticut-style recipe. Fortunately, that means that making an Alaska snow crab roll is quite easy to do as well. To get started, you need to purchase one pound of crabmeat, mayonnaise, lemon juice, butter and hot dog buns. With all of those ingredients, you’ll be able to create both Maine and Connecticut-style rolls using crabmeat. To create a Connecticut-style roll, you’ll simply want to cook the crabmeat and then add a good amount of butter to it. Toast the hot dog buns, then butter both the inside and outside of the buns, and spread the crabmeat/butter mixture inside the buns. If you have access to hot dog buns that have a flat outside (like a slice of bread), those are much more authentic than regular hot dog buns (but those will work too).
To create a Main-style roll, mix the crabmeat with whatever amount of mayonnaise you prefer. The mixture of the crabmeat and the mayonnaise should resemble a crabmeat salad. Then simply add a dash of lemon juice to the mixture, butter some hotdog buns, and then spread the crab salad mixture inside the buns. No matter which style of roll you decide to make, you’ll be able to appreciate how tasty, fresh and healthy the Alaska snow crab is, and how easy both recipes are to make.
